About

Bill Arnold is the founder of WEA DESIGN INC, an Oak Park based design firm established in 2009 that focuses on creating distinctive interiors. With over 25 years of design practice he has earned a reputation for creating interiors known for their careful attention to purpose, composition, proportion, simplicity, repose and their quality of light. He has successfully designed interiors for a broad range of clients; including private residences, retail show rooms, building lobbies, offices and hospitality projects. Each design is a specific response to client driven creative and strategic requirements.

His experience and expertise is grounded in projects both small and large. Central to the success of each project is the collaboration between the client and WEA DESIGN INC. Regardless of whether it is a small residential renovation project or larger project designed in partnership with associate architects and engineers the process focuses on creative solutions that demonstrate a clear understanding of both the economic and creative possibilities.

Prior to starting his own consulting practice, Bill served as a Principal and Director of Design with Powell/Kleinschmidt Inc (P/K). He led the design process for a broad range of projects for significant clients. His record of award winning projects completed while at P/K includes the glass box lobby expansion project for Tishman Speyer at 200 West Madison, which won the esteemed 2006 AIA Divine Detail award. In addition to his professional experience Bill served as chair for several years as the Chairman of the Village of Oak Park Community Design Commission. The Commission developed criteria for revision to the community’s Signage and Landscape zoning ordinances.
