elevator lobby corridor entry

LPT is a 70 story multi-family building on Chicago’s lake front. Completed in 1969, unique in its relationship to the lake, surrounded on three sides by water and east of Lake Shore Drive it presents an iconic silhouette renowned for its sculptural shape based on its Y shaped floor plan and undulating glass curtain wall.
WEA Design in association with Boeman Design was retained to renovate the resident corridors and elevators lobbies. Central to the process was integrating a variety of exposed cabling and life safety systems, brighten the dark corridors and redefine the residential quality of the spaces. The resultant design aspires to create an interior that is an extension of the building’s striking geometry and reflects the timeless character of the building’s exterior. New LED lighting will increase light levels by 20% while connected electrical loads will be reduced by one third.
